Why Does Coaching Work?

What is my coach doing that makes me feel so empowered?

Short answer: Your coach believes in you.

"We can tell how other people feel about us, and it's to that that we respond."*

Surprisingly, the way people feel about us comes through to us regardless of their actions. Think of a teacher who has high expectations of you as a student: you rise to meet the belief you sense from your teacher. Think of a colleague who asked about your personal life but didn't really care: the lack of genuine interest was obvious to you.

So how others think about us is one of their most important qualities for impact on us.

This is why a coach's mindset is so important. They believe in you as a resourceful person. This is one reason coaching works so well.

The beauty of working with a coach is this: Their belief in you enables you to rise to your challenges and thrive. Their empowering view of you is what brings out your best thinking.

📣 Who in your life believes in you? Give a shoutout to your coach or someone else.

📣 What impact does their belief have on you?
