Listen More & Less Telling Off

We led a workshop this week with our colleagues about Coaching Skills in the Classroom. At the end we asked participants for something they wanted to try in their classroom the next day. These responses inspire us:
--Statements change to questions
--More open-ended questions; less telling off
--Listening skills
--When giving negative feedback, stating - you are "making an observation," and give them a chance to discuss
--Listen more; no judgement; be positive; change classroom language
--Turning questions into exploring digital tools [from a tech teacher]
--Thoughtful questions that require them to think more
