Being Braver: WomenEd Keynotes

We had a brilliant time at WomenEdSGP's conference on Saturday: Level Up Career Clinic! What an encouraging and energising day.

Kathryn Hemming and Pauline O'Brien were the inspiring keynote speakers. We loved the quotation that Kathryn shared from Jamie Lee Curtis: "If not now, then when? If not me, then who?" Kathryn also shared stories from her own life of being 10% braver (the WomenEd motto) and outlined five ways one can support oneself to be braver:
🟣 Be and get a mentor
🟣 Get a coach
🟣 Read and listen to inspiring things
🟣 Find your tribe
🟣 Be a cheerleader

We are big proponents of having a coach 😀 and we want to work on being tribe-finders and cheerleaders for others.

Pauline asked what personal success looks like and suggested that continuous growth is a way of defining success. She also spoke about trust in schools (perhaps you can just read the quotation in the picture). Trust starts building when we make one connection at a time in one conversation at a time. We felt like the whole day was a series of these trust-building, cheerleading conversations.
