“What is something you have always wanted to do…?”
"What is something you have always wanted to do, but have not yet done?"
When someone asked me (Sarah) this question, my mind felt so expansive and excited as I was thinking of all the dreams I have not (yet) achieved. And I also felt fearful. But I have recently learned that there are two types of fear - one that is meant to keep you from danger, and one that is connected to a wider, open space and a feeling of reverence. The latter is also called awe, which is a feeling we can lean into rather than being afraid. Feeling that awe means there is possibility and potential in front of us. When I think about things I have always wanted to do, I want to lean into that fearful awesomeness, and not become anxious.
What dreams do you have that instill a feeling of awe and expansiveness in you?
