Coaching Works: Examples From Our Lives
“Wow! This really works!” That was how we immediately felt when we were first coached.
We know sometimes coaching sounds like all buzz words. So here are some real things we have done thanks to coaching:
Tackle a hard conversation with a colleague that I was putting off for months.
Mark some things on my to-do list with an icon that meant I was going to have to be brave to do them - and then following through.
Reach out to my brothers more regularly.
Remind myself to text a grieving friend at least every fortnight to let them know they are not alone.
Choose to detach from some particular workplace drama by intentionally selecting where to eat lunch.
Stick an inspiring photo on my planner to remind me of my main purpose at work every day.
Revive the well-written mission and vision statement of my team and insert it at the top of the meeting minutes template, then highlight the phrases that fit with what we will discuss in this meeting.
Coaching really works because it helps you come up with the ideas that work for YOU!
